Incorporating the Inaugural North District 5k Road Race Championships

We are delighted to be able to bring you a full action-packed programme of races in 2023 with two 5k Races and the inaugural North District 5k Road Race Championships for U20/SEN/MAS athletes in the district.  We encourage all abilities to enter, and races will run so that we culminate the event with the fastest race.  Please enter as normal using entry central and please remember to put down an anticipate 5k time to allow us to put you in the correct race.

For athletes from the North District, you will be eligible regardless of what race you are placed within to contest the North District 5k Road Race Championships.  The North District Road & Cross-Country Commission will present the following medals following the last race on the night. All enquiries regarding the championship should be directed to the message function on the NDRCC Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/592020444196806

Registration

Registration for each race will close 15 mins before the start. Runners who are late to registration will not be allowed to register and then run.

Race numbers
Your race number should be secured to the front of your kit using safety pins. It must be worn on the garment that will be visible when you finish the race. Runners are not permitted to transfer their number to another runner without letting us know prior to the event. Any runner found to be racing with another runner’s number will be disqualified.

Individual Prizes

Here is the deal, we are a volunteer not for profit race, so each year once we pay what we cost to run the event we split the entry fees equally to prize fund and Kyniska Advocacy less cost to run the race so the more that enter the more we can offer to the prize fund and the more donation we can give to Kyniska for the year ahead to support the athletics community.  The flip side of this is if we get lower entry, we have to scale our prize fund and donation so this is a big call to athletes, clubs and our fabulous running community to get out and support this event.

Kyniska Advocacy, a wonderful organisation which is advocating for new and better policies that protect, respect, and celebrate women and girls in sport. This event is another fundraiser for this organisation and would love a big show of support not just for the races but for all involved in Kyniska Advocacy - www.kyniskaadvocacy.com
