This multi-terrain race is a tough but scenic route round the town of Forfar organised by Forfar Road Runners. The race route contains a varied mixture of running surfaces from country park paths, tarmac, pavement, farm tracks, fields and bogs – and a water section which can be knee deep (and ice cold). As a consequence -

This race is NOT recommended for novice runners!

The race has a limit of 250 runners and will be filled on a first come first served basis. The deadline for entries is  Friday 19th January 2024 or when the race is full. Please note there will be NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY and that participants must be aged 18 or over on the date of the race.

  • Challenging and scenic multi-terrain route

The route will be partially marked but it is strongly advised that every runner studies and carries a map of the course. Due to the time of year it is also advisable that you carry full body-cover including hat, gloves and waterproofs. Due to the nature of the course, which has multiple road crossing, THE USE OF HEADPHONES, EXCEPT BONE CONDUCTING ONES,  DURING THE RACE IS NOT PERMITTED. Anyone ignoring this rule faces disqualification.

Please note: We will be operating a cut off-time of 2hrs 45 min.

Race numbers are to be collected on the day and must be worn on the front of your vest /jacket/shorts. YOU MUST COLLECT YOUR OWN RACE NUMBER PERSONALLY and random ID checks will be done. Weather is changeable so please come prepared for rain, sleet, snow and / or sunshine. The START:  Directions will be posted to the start area and all participants should be at this point no later than 10.55am.  Please line up as per your estimated finishing time.
Car Parking:  Race marshals will direct car parking but spaces are limited, for this reason, we would ask runners to car share where possible.
First Aid:  First Aid help will be provided on route should you need it. If you are unable to finish, try to walk to a refreshment station or wait for our sweep vehicle, which will transport you back safely.
Results:  We will endeavour to publish results at and within 48hours. You can print out your own personal result ticket from Perfect Timing after crossing the finish line.
Prizes:  We aim to start the presentation in the clubhouse within 5 minutes of the last competitor finishing. If runners do not attend the prizegiving (or have a representative attend) they will forfeit their prize as we can not post out prizes.

Entries are non-refundable and not transferable. Entrants who can no longer make the race may be offered a deferred entry to next year's race if they notify race admin (details on your sign up email) by 6pm Friday 19th January 2024
