Here is your chance to run the Essex Way as a virtual event, you can run this with your friends or by yourself.

You can choose to run, walk or jog this - it's entirely up to you, and complete each leg at different days and times and in any order you wish to do so, to cover the full distance of 82 miles on the stunning Essex Way. You will be posted out full trail narrative printed instructions for each leg, taking you over the 10 stages, starting at Epping Station for your first leg of 7.5 miles. Whilst on route please keep an eye out for the famous Essex Way poppy. This is also a guide for your route. Some signs may have fallen or be hidden, so please keep your instructions with you at all times. 

You will travel through the Essex countryside from Epping to Harwich on lovely footpaths and tracks with stunning riverside sections along the River Blackwater, River Colne and finally the River Stour. The final section is particularly stunning passing through Manningtree and Wrabness Nature Reserve, which offers some lovely wildlife and beautiful scenery. 

Everyone will receive a cracking finishers t-shirt or vest 'I've ran the Essex Way 82 miles' and a medal to match this, and also a running buff with the famous Essex Way poppy on it. 

I am very excited to be organising this virtual event as I am sure, like myself, you will love running along these trails - they are just stunning, and it will be a great achievement to say you have ran 82 miles of the Essex Way in your own time and maybe with your friends around you. 

There is no cut off time for this event, you do it all in your own time.
