Spiggie 10k organised by Shetland Amateur Athletics Club

Sunday 1st November 2026 at 11:30  Scottish Athletics Licenced event (Pending). 

Starting point and registration : Dunrossness Central Public Hall, Shetland 

Spiggie 10k is run under UK athletics rules, the route is an accurately measured 10km and made up of mainly roads. 

The Spiggie 10k rules

• Runners taking part in the 10k must be at least 15 years old on the day, (under 16s require parental permission).
• The course is unsuitable for wheelchairs.
• Running with buggies or pets is not permitted.
• In accordance with UK athletics rules, headphones are not allowed whilst running this course. Bone conducting headphones are the only earphones that are approved for use in all road races under the UK athletics rules of competition. Anyone wearing in ear headphones will be disqualified.
• It is essential that the Race Organisers abide by these age requirements in order that the appropriate insurances are not compromised.

Please note your number cannot be transferred to another runner. No refunds will be given unless the race is cancelled.

Medals - there will be finisher medals. 

Trophies for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male & 1st, 2nd & 3rd Female.
