Adult Sprint Aquathlon

Our Sprint Aquathlon is the ideal event for seasoned triathletes or beginners aged 15 and over* looking to take on a bit more of a challenge.

Participants will complete a 800m open water swim followed by a 5km run within the park. Please note that this event will have a deep water start and the swim course will be in deep water, so it is important you are comfortable with this.

As such we will offer defferal for up to two years to pregnant women to support their participation in swim, bike, run events. There will be a generous cut-off for the swim section (based only around safety in the water), and no cut-off for the run.

TriStar 3

TriStar 3 (age 13-14*) athletes will complete two seperate short aquathlons with their combined results producing their final result, as below.

Race 1

300m open water swim - 1.2km run

Race 2

200m open water swim - 1.5km run

Please note that this event will have a deep water start and the swim course will be in deep water, so it is important you are comfortable with this.

Both events will count with scoring working as follows,

For each race the athlete who crosses the line first will score 1 point, 2nd place will get 2 points, 3rd 3 points, etc, and the athlete with the lowest score overall will win.

If an athlete is a DNS (Did not Start) or DNF (Did not Finish) in either of the races they will take whatever points come with last place so if there are 20 finishers, they’ll be placed 21st, a DNF will be placed in front of a DNS.

Should 2 or more athletes finish on the same total amount of points, then their time from both races will be added together to differentiate between them. It is therefore important that athletes complete both courses as fast as they can.
