The Course
Essentially you're going to be following the coastline round the entire island. There is a navigation element to this, but it's not there to catch you out. You'll be running across firm sandy beaches, along gravel tracks, grassy dunes, sheep tracks, a few bogs and some rocky outcrops. There's a few hills but nothing serious. It's a really enjoyable course. Varied and incredibly scenic. Maps and profiles can be found on the Tiree Fitness website.
Getting to Tiree
You can travel on ferry from Oban or plane from Glasgow. It's a weekend trip so you'll need to come over on Saturday, race on Sunday, ceilidh on sunday evening and return home on Monday. It's worth it for a weekend trip though, and a great excuse to come and visit Tiree.
