Monthly Masterclass to Advance Wellness
This workshop explores the transformative power of sound, chanting, and mantra within the yoga tradition, guided by the teachings of A.G. Mohan and the lineage of Śrī T. Krishnamacharya. As a long-term student of Mohanji, I’ve experienced firsthand how sound is not merely an external vibration but a profound tool for internal alignment and self-awareness.
We will begin by exploring how nāda—the subtle essence of sound—affects the body, breath, and mind. Through guided chanting, we will experience how the voice becomes a bridge between the physical and the subtle, integrating movement, breath, and attention. Simple yet potent mantras will be introduced, with emphasis on correct pronunciation (uccāraṇa), mindful listening, and the inner attitude (bhāva) that gives sound its depth.
Drawing from the Vedas and traditional sources, we’ll reflect on how sound refines the quality of attention and cultivates steadiness, clarity, and peace. This session is not about performance or musicality—it is about presence. Participants will leave with practical techniques to incorporate sound and mantra into daily practice, fostering a deeper sense of connection, resonance, and inner stillness in the spirit of Krishnamacharya’s tradition.
