Heriot-Watt Round the Grounds

Organiser's Description
Everyone's favourite end of semester race is here! Our annual Round The Grounds Race is back on March 29th 2026! Joins us for some fun around the stunning Heriot-Watt Campus!
There will be two different events taking place:
- 5k - 13:30 start (13:15 declarations close)
- Kids Fun Run - 12:45 start (12:30 declarations close)
Both events are multi-terrain that will take you down the trail paths around the campus grounds.
Registration and number collection will be at the Oriam which is only a short walk from the start of the race. With registration open from 11:30am. (The Oriam, Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, EH14 4AS)
The 5k is also part of the Scottish Student Sport Winter Series, so take part if you want to improve on your ranking for the year!

Timings

The 5k race is a multi-terrain race that will take you around our campus grounds.
The Route
The route starts at the Oriam and follows the trail path around the outside of campus and will end at the Grid building which is a 5-minute walk from the start of the race.
Entry Costs
5k:
Entry is £8 for students and SA members and £10 otherwise.
A team entry form will be sent out to universities so that all students can qualify for the discount.
Kids Fun Run
Timings
- 5k - 13:30 start (13:15 declarations close)
- Kids Fun Run - 12:45 start (12:30 declarations close)
Children must be aged between 4 and 14 to enter the Fun Run, with all participating recieving a medal!
The Route
The route starts at the Grid building and will follow a short loop through the Heriot-Watt trails before finishing back at the Grid.
Entry Costs
Kids Fun Run:
Entry is £2 which includes a finishers medal for all kids particpating in this event.
