Rattray Beaver Run – it’s Dam Tough!

Half Marathon and 10K Races

Sunday 21^st September 2025

The newly re-branded Rattray Beaver Run Half Marathon and 10K (formerly Rattray Blair Half Marathon and 10K) is being organised this year by BLAIRGOWRIE AND DISTRICT ROTARY.

The Half Marathon is one of the most undulating and scenic half marathon races in Scotland and for the 2nd year running we are delighted to confirm that the equally undulating and scenic 10K race will also be on offer!

All profits from both races will be split between two fantastic charities – Parkinson’s UK and Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).

The Races

Both the Half Marathon and the 10K courses start and finish near Rattray Primary School. The courses have been accurately measured and are predominantly on quiet, rural roads with the Half Marathon having a small section of rough track towards the end.

Entry

Please note that entries close at midnight on Saturday 13^th September 2025. Entry for the Half Marathon is £25 and entry for the 10K is £20.

Please note that the race is not licensed by Scottish Athletics and therefore there is no discount available for entrants affiliated to Scottish Athletics.

All finishers will receive a quality snood and a bespoke medal.

Sorry, strictly no entries on the day, no number transfers, no refunds and no deferrals.

Parking

Parking will be available at Rattray Primary School, High Street, Rattray, PH10 7DG.

Registration

Registration for both events will open at 8.00am at the Community Connect Centre beside Rattray Primary School. Runners will receive their race number at registration. All entrants must register at least 15 minutes before the event starts to allow time to get to the start line.

Start/Finish

The start and finish is in the vicinity of the Community Connect Centre beside Rattray Primary School. Please be at the start area in good time.

The Half Marathon will start at 9.30am.

The 10K will start at 10am.

Time Limit

Half Marathon participants must be able to complete the course in 3 hours 15 minutes or less.

10K participants must be able to complete the course in 1 hour 45 minutes or less.

You are welcome to continue to complete the course after the cut-off time but please be aware that marshals etc may have departed the course and you will not receive an official time.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot allow participants to take part with dogs, prams, push-chairs etc due to the nature of the route. For the same reason, we ask runners not to wear headphones unless medically prescribed. Headphones that work by conducting sound through bones and do not sit in the ears are perfectly acceptable.

Water Stations

There will be 3 water stations on the Half Marathon course and 1 water station on the 10K course.

Participants must keep to the left hand side of the road unless otherwise directed. All participants must wear their race number on the front of their clothing. Please use four safety pins (spare pins available at registration) to assist in identification at the finish line.

First aid cover will be available.

Post Race Refreshments

When we announced that we were taking over the organisation of these races, the most common question we were asked was "Will the post race buffet be as good as in previous years?" Well, it's a tough act to follow but we will certainly try our best!

Prize Giving Presentation

This will take place at approximately 1pm.
