Pumsaint Trail Half Marathon
20 Sep 2020
Welcome to Pumsaint trail half marathon online entry! Thank you for looking at our event.
It is a mainly trail run, incorporating forestry road, single track, fields, river crossings and (unfortunatley) some tarmac! The course is set in the magnificent Cothi valley, which is absolutley breathtaking. It is a challenging course, with over 2000ft of elevation, but well worth the effort for the spectacular views.
There are 4 water stops on the course, providing water approximately every 3 miles.
There are 2 adult races. The half marathon, which is competitive and has age category prizes (all runners must be over 17), and the 6.5 mile 'fun run', which is non competitive, but you still get the cakes at the end!! (all runners must be over 16).
The course will be fully marked, with marshals on key points and on the water stations.
The course record holders for the half marathon are (Male) Sion Price 1:24:14 (2017) and (Female) Caryl Jones 1:33:40 (2018)
The course is held mainly over private land, so please do not try and 'recce' the route beforehand. Also please be respectful with any rubbish you may have (gel wrappers) and leave them with the marshals on the course.
There is plenty of car parking available on the field, and toilets are provided by the hall, and the public toilets which are looked after by the national trust. Please help to keep them clean, and leave them in the way you found them.
There are also races for children, but these are entries on the day only. Entries cost £2, and all children will get a medal on completion. There will be races for under 5's (non-competitive), Primary school and secondary school categories (competitive)
Please follow the pumsaint trail half facebook page for all up to date information about the race.
