Perth 10k Festival
27 Aug 17
The Perth 10k is proud to offer its support to a local cause, Support Our Lily, to help Lily Douglas and her parents through her journey with cancer. Lily is 9 years old and passionate about dancing. In April this year, she went to the doctor with a sore lump on her shoulder after a dance competition, was rushed through tests and was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ewing's Sarcoma, a bone cancer.
Lily has won many dance competitions, performed in professional theatre productions and has a bright future in dancing. She has been receiving ongoing treatment at the Edinburgh Sick Kids Hospital and as you can imagine, this places a huge demand on her parents to take time off work to ensure Lily gets the treatment she needs.
We have decided NOT to affiliate this year's race with Scottish Athletics, offer everyone the flat rate of £16 with the option of donating the usual £2 extra for non SA members to this cause. The money raised from the extra £2 per runner will be donated to the Support Our Lily fundraising campaign which will help support Lily and her parents with whatever they need, from future treatments/rehabilitation not available on the NHS to travel and accommodation for Lily's parents while she receives the treatment she needs.
We hope you will help us to help Lily. Thank you
The Perth 10k will take place at 11am on Sunday 27th August 2017
RACE START POINT The race will start and finish on the North Inch in Perth

Marshals / Water
Marshals will be at strategic areas around the course to ensure runners safety and correct direction. A manned water station will be located at the 5km mark. It’s the responsibility of runners to ensure that they are fully hydrated before the start of the race.
PARKING There is limited parking at Bells Sports Centre on race day due to another event on the same day. Runners and families are strongly advised to use the car parks within the city center area, which are only a short walking distance from the start/finish. All runners parking in the surrounding streets to Bells Sports Centre are asked to avoid blocking driveways of local residents.
