Orkney CX Coaching

Get fully tuned in for the forthcoming Orkney 'World' CX Championships.

Coaching sessions for P2-P4, P5-P7, Youth and Adult.

Each session will take place on the 'championship' course at the Market Stance (Riding School) with a chance to practice various sections under coaching conditions so that on the day you totally nail it.

TIMINGS

P2-P4                          1000 - 1100

P5-P7                          1115 - 1215

YOUTHS/ADULTS        1330 - 1500

Each session will start promptly so please don't be late and please allow yourself plenty of time for bike set-up upon arriving at the venue.

Please note that no final email will be sent out for this event. Any updates e.g. changes to timings or weather related info, will be made available via the Orkney CC Facebook page.

COST

• £3.00 per rider for P2-P7 & Youths/U18's
  
• £6.00 per rider for Adults
  
• Entry is strictly limited to 10 riders per session
  
• The closing date for booking is Friday 23rd February, 2024.

WHAT TO WEAR

Bring your layers. Whilst we will get moving straight away the coaching venue is quite exposed and we are still in winter. Gloves that don't hinder the operation of your bike are a very good idea as are an extra pair of socks to keep those toes toasty warm. A helmet is compulsory. If its raining please bring a waterproof outer layer.

VENUE

• It's at the Market Stance/Riding School, Old Finstown Road, Kirkwall. Parking is available in the Stance/Riding School car park.
  
• Please note that there is no access to the main riding school building as it is in use by other activities.

SMALL PRINT

• By booking you are agreeing to abide by the instructions of the coach.
• Cyclists must be able to ride unsupervised to participate.
  
• If you are Under 18 you may only participate if a parent or legal guardian has agreed to these conditions and consents to your participation.
  
• You understand and agree that you participate in the coaching entirely at your own risk, that you must rely on your own ability in dealing with all hazards, and that you must conduct yourself in a manner that is safe for yourself and all others throughout the duration of the event.
• You acknowledge that participation in the coaching is physically strenuous and demanding. You are aware of the nature of the event and associated medical and physical risks involved. You further certify that you are physically capable of participating in the coaching and will only participate if you are fit enough to do so.
• If you have any medical condition/s, including allergies, which the coach might need to be aware of, you undertake that you have provided details of these at the point of registration.
• You accept full liability and responsibility for any medical expenses incurred as a result of training for and/or participating in the event.
• Whilst the coach will take every care with the staging of the event, you accept that you must make all reasonable precautions for the safeguarding of your person and of your property during your participation in the coaching. You further acknowledge that personal accident and personal items insurance is your responsibility.
• You accept that it is your responsibility to provide and use a suitable bicycle and helmet. The coach’s decision is final as to whether the bicycle and helmet are suitable. Use of a helmet is compulsory.
  
• You accept that the coach reserves the right to amend the event format or cancel the event due to health and safety reasons, including storm, rain, inclement weather, winds or any other act of god conditions.
