Neilston Pad Race
Saturday 4th May 2019 - Race Start 10:00 am
We're back, - May the Fourth be with you!
Thanks to everyone that contributed to our successful reboot in 2018. Prepare for more mud...
The 4.5 mile event has a little bit of everything: road, path, trail and of course mud. The event starts from the Neilston Show field in Scotland's 6th highest village, and circles the iconic Neilston Pad above the village. This is primarily a trail race featuring a decent climb, with a short linking section on public roads. Runners of all ability are welcome, - it’s a race for some and a run for others! Will you have time to enjoy views extending from Tinto Hill to Arran, or to spot the buzzards, dippers, stonechats, roe deer, foxglove and harebells along the route? Entry to Neilston Show is included so why not make a day of it and enjoy the Show once you pass the finish line?
Basic changing facilities are available for runners and bags can be left in the race tent (though it’s advisable not to leave anything valuable). Parts of the course will be muddy so you are strongly advised to wear off-road shoes.
Entrants for the run must be 16 years of age or over.
Starting point: Neilston Show Field, Uplawmoor Road, Neilston
Registration: 08:45 am to 09:40 pm at the Padrace Tent on the Show Field. (Registration will close promptly at 09:40 pm). The compulsory pre-race briefing takes place at 09:50 am at the Hospitality Tent.
Online entry closes at midnight Thursday 2rd May 2019. On the day entry will be £12, - £6 to enter Show Field and £6 race entry, cash only).
No refunds will be given unless the race is cancelled.
