Tri Angus Montrose Novice and Sprint Triathlon

Welcome to the fourth Montrose Triathlon delivered by Tri Angus Limited. We are organising two races on Sunday, 4 June 2017. These are:
- a Novice race ideal for those new to triathlon, and
- a Sprint race for those with a little more experience or who are a little more daring!
The races are based at Montrose Sports Centre. The swim will take place in the superb 6 lane swimming pool. The bike route then takes in some of the best views Angus has to offer as it travels out of town onto the quiet country roads. Finally, the run offers participants the chance to breathe in some fresh sea air as it negotiates the beach front. The distances are as follows:

There is a limit of 210 participants for the day and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Closing date for entries is Friday, 26 May 2017.
Both the bike and run routes have been measured using Google Maps. Entry fees are as follows:

There will be prizes for the category winners and are as follows:
- 1st Male/Female
- 2nd Male/Female
- 3rd Male/Female
Both races will be held under Triathlon Scotland rules.
All routes will be marked out and Event Marshals will be posted at key points along the length of the routes. It is strongly advised that all participants study the route map prior to the race which can be found on the Tri Angus website.

Registration: This will take place at Montrose Sports Centre and will be clearly signposted on the day. Registration opens from:
More information on race day timings will be available on the Tri Angus website in the lead up to the event. Race numbers and swim caps are to be collected at registration along with any final details. Bikes must be racked on participants numbered slot before the race briefing. Weather is changeable so please come prepared for all conditions.
Race Briefing: All participants must attend the pre-race briefing. This is a condition of participating.
Format: All routes will be clearly marked with signs, markers and Event Marshals placed at key points throughout. However, it is the final responsibility of participants to turn in the correct place and complete the correct number of laps.
Car Parking: There are a limited number of parking spaces available at Montrose Sports Centre. On street parking is available locally free of charge.
First Aid: Tayside Mountain Rescue will provide medical assistance along the route should it be required. If participants are unable to finish, try to walk to an Event Marshal or wait for the sweep vehicle, which will transport you (and your bike) if required back to Montrose Sports Centre.
Results: Results will be published at www.triangus.co.uk within 5 days of the event taking place.
Prizes: Prize-giving will take place in Montrose Sports Centre after the last participant finishes.

Tayside Mountian Rescue is the official charity partner of the 2017 Montrose Triathlon. There is no obligation to fundraise but TMR would love it if you could support them, no matter how small your donation. No portion of the entry fee goes to TMR; any money received by TMR will come from fundraising undertaken by participants or by participants pledging support via the optional charity donation box on the entry form.

Participants wishing to withdraw must inform the Event Organiser by email (). Entry fees will be refunded or transferred as follows: before 3 May 2017 participants will receive 75% refund (less any EntryCentral fees). Less than 1 month prior to race date - no refund.
If the event is cancelled due to circumstances out of the Event Organiser’s control then no refunds will be automatically offered. The Event Organisers will make every reasonable attempt to reschedule the event or transfer entries in this situation. If the event is cancelled due to circumstances within the Event Organiser’s control then participants will be offered a refund less a sum to cover reasonable expenses incurred by the Event Organiser to date. Participants must apply in writing (via email) to claim their refund. No refunds will be granted after one month has passed from the event date.
