The Mabie 10k Trail Race
31 May 2020
****Event Cancelled Due To Coronavirus****
As a result of Scottish Athletics and Forestry Commission revoking our licences for the event and the ongoing ‘lockdown’ situation, the Mabie 10K Trail Race has had to be cancelled.
As a club we are gutted about these turn of events and it would have been great to hold the race later in the year, however with no further knowledge of when things will change and the amount of races being moved, we have decided to go for the virtual race option. We already have the medals and trophies in hand, and it would be a shame to see them go to waste.
You now have 2 options
OPTION 1 Have your entry transferred to the virtual race. This would involve you completing the 10K distance on or as close to the original race date as possible and sharing a copy of your run with us via email to have your medal posted out to your home address. If you choose this option, you will also receive a refund of £10 (SAL) /£12 (NON-SAL) back to your original payment card.
OPTION 2 Apply for a full refund if the virtual option does not suit you. The offer of a full refund will only apply until Sunday 5th April after which it will be withdrawn. The money will be refunded to you within 28 days.
You now have to email email@example.com with your preferred option by Sunday 5th April. Please DO NOT use the Entry Central auto reply. Please also put your First and Second Name along with MABIE 10K in the subject box on the email.

There will be no refunds given once you enter, so please don’t take a place if you’re unsure about running on the day. If the race is unable to go ahead due to unforeseen circumstances or adverse course conditions, which would impact on the safety of competitors, we will post notice of this on the Dumfries Harriers website and Facebook page, the day before.
Limited on the day entries will be available if race is not full, you need to have registered by 10.30am latest. On the day entry will cost £20.00
Registration will be open at the registration tent from 10am and will close at 10.45am sharp. Here you can collect your race number and timing chip, use the toilet facilities, and leave your bag (at your own risk).
Please note parking within Mabie Forest is chargeable, please car share where possible and park courteously.
The start line will be situated in front of the Forestry and Land Scotland offices, located to the left of Mabie House Hotel and will be clearly marked on race day with our Dumfries Harrier flags and timing equipment.
A pre-race briefing will take place at 10.55am to which all competitors must attend.
The race starts at 11am.
The course, follows a mixture of the main fire roads and some of the walking paths around Mabie Forest, there are occasional crossing points with the mountain bike routes. The route itself is undulating but suitable for runners of all abilities. If pace is not your thing, then you’ve got the breath-taking views to enjoy.
A water station will be provided at the halfway mark to keep you hydrated.
To ensure the safety of competitors, the route will be marshalled at key points throughout, and we’ll be operating a last runner sweeper. Please follow any instructions marshals give.
Please note also that this race is run in an open forest, please be aware of other users, especially mountain bikers and those with dogs, and always remain courteous. The roads and paths are not closed for the race.
The finish line will be back at the Forestry Commission Offices, where you started. Please ensure you keep the finish line area clear, so timing marshals have a clear line of sight to those coming in.
On finishing, all competitors will receive water, a medal and goody bag. If you've injured yourself in any way, professional first aid will be on hand.
Prize giving will commence once the last runner crosses the finish line. If you think you have won a prize and need to leave, please see the Race Director before you go.
We’ll have hot drinks and cakes available for a small donation to our charity fund.
Full results will be posted up in on the club website and Facebook page later in the day.
