The Loch Lomond 5K starts shortly after the 10k race, enabling all runners to finish together, which provides a fantastic atmosphere and enhances everyones experience.

5K - Runners must be at least 11 years of age on the day of the event.

The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday 20th June 2026 with the 10K starting at 10am and the 5K starting at 10.20am in the Moss O’ Balloch Park.
Our beautiful 10K route is relatively flat and fast with stunning views of Loch Lomond. The route uses paths within Balloch Castle Country Park as well as the cycle path along the River Leven providing a relatively traffic free race.
Our 5K route is held completely within Balloch Castle Country Park and has some inclines and declines, however the effort is well worth it for the views and the fantastic downhill finish!
Please note that the10k route has been adapted for 2025 where runners will do the loop between the 4k and 8k point in the opposite direction to previous years. This will involve a lovely stretch of running along the River Leven from Balloch Bridge to Bonhill Bridge. Runners will cross Bonhill Bridge and return towards Balloch on the opposite side of the river before crossing it again at the Stuckie Bridge where the route continues back to Balloch Park and the finish line. Both our routes can be viewed via the below links:
