RACE STARTING POINT AND COURSE.

Race starts and finishes in playpark next to Primary School.

The race is approx 5.7 miles. The route will take you past the location where the last pistol duel in Scotland took place on 23rd August 1826.

Grab your trainers and join us for a trail run experience you will never forget. Swap the tarmac for a unique opportunity to run this amazing and exciting route. Starting on the gravel path across from Cardenden Primary School, which goes up the farm track and heads into Cardenden Woods, where you will find an amazing mixture of trail and woodland with quickly changing terrain. This is an excellent route for runners of all abilities. Experienced hill and trail runners will not be disappointed with this unique new race route. You will run under the dual carriageway, over a small timber bridge, slalom around trees and much more. If you haven’t been to Cardenden Woods, you will be in for a treat. The finish will be in the playing fields near to the start line.

Trail shoes are recommended as the course is mainly off-road (very off-road in places), and often muddy, rocky or rooted. It's a 'proper' challenging off-road race.
