Worcester Tri Club proudly presents the Worcester Lakeside Triathlon to be held on Sunday 21st May 2023.
We will be running two events, a sprint and a double.
The sprint consists of a 750m open water swim, 30km bike and a 5km run.
The double consists of a 1500m Open Water Swim, 60km Bike and 10km Run.
The swim is within the freshwater lake. One lap for the sprint, two for the double.
Next a very short run to the secure racked transition area (grassed) for T1 to pick up Bikes etc.
The Bike route is made up of a mixture of undulating and twisting roads round the Worcestershire lanes with some flat areas, fast descents and some tougher rolling roads especially the climb out of Great Witley. One lap for the sprint, two for the double.
The bike route can be found via this link https://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/2462261218
The Run is held on farm tracks, paths and fields round the campus, with two laps for the sprint, four laps of the course for the double.

The cafe opens at 7:30am. Refreshments will be available on the day.
The double event will start at 08:00. The sprint will start at 09:00.
Entry closes Tuesday midnight (or earlier if waves are full, dont leave it to the last minute, in 2022 we had around 15 people asking to enter the day entries closed but it was too late, get in early and we can then organise numbers/waves).
You will be formally informed of your start time on the Friday before the race. Information will be emailed out, nothing posted, its important to read this information.
Please note in the event of you wishing to cancel we reserve the right not to refund race fees. We will try and accommodate up to the end of March 2023 but any later and we will only be able to roll your event place over to another WTC event in the next 12 months. Unfortunately we cannot handle any withdrawals and transfers after the 30th April 2023.
The event will be run in accordance with British Triathlon rules/guidance.
If the event needs to be cancelled due to covid, we will refund entries or you have the option to transfer to another Worcester Triathlon Club event.
If you are a BTF member you must bring your membership card with you to registration to validate the race license discount. If you can not present it at registration you will have to pay a supplement of £6 for a day license.
We are a very friendly and welcoming club, many people use this event for their first triathlon or first open water triathlon. We have never had to stop anyone from completing the event due to time, however, for the double distance there is the expectation that you can complete the swim in 1 hour. Be able to cycle the bike course within 3 hours and complete a 10 km run within 90 minutes.
For the sprint distance there is the expectation that you can complete the swim within 45 minutes. Be able to cycle the bike course within 1 hour 45 minutes and complete a 5km within 50 minutes.
These are very generous times and are in place to ensure waves can start on time, adeqaute water cover is in place and that entrants have the required basic level of fitness.
No dogs are allowed on site.
There is a parking charge of £4 paid directly to Worcester University.
Like previous years we are supporting St Richard’s Hospice, by donating 10% of all registration fees to the hospice and asking participants to raise sponsorship monies. To set up a Just Giving page for St Richard’s Hospice please visit www.justgiving.com/strichards or for paper sponsor forms contact Jodi Brandwood or Alison Parkes on 01905 763963 or email@example.com
St Richard’s Hospice cares for patients and families in Worcestershire who are living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Each year they provide free care and support to around 3,300 patients and their families – helping them towards the best quality of life possible. This year alone they need to raise £8.8 million so any support you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
