Organiser's Description

Kirkintilloch 12.5k race 2020

This year marks the 15th anniversary of this unusual distance road race. It has become a popular event in the Scottish race calendar and each year has filled up quickly.

To mark the special occasion there is an offer to enter all three sets of Kirkintilloch races - the 12.5k in Feb, 10k (or 5k) in June, and half marathon in Oct - and you can enter this special Anniversary Series at

This year's 12.5k race is being held on Sunday 16 February 2020 with a start time of 11am.

The race is held on quiet country roads close to Kirkintilloch. It is a challenging course - some runners call it hilly! - which will provide an opportunity to test out your winter training. The race is open to runners of different abilities but we suggest that you should have completed a 10k race in advance.

The race commences outside of Gartconner Primary School, about 0.5k from registration, and will be clearly marked. It is also the finish line.

Registration:  number pick up (from 0930) and changing facilities (limited to toilets, no showers) will be available at  Waterside Miners Welfare Club, Waterside - directions can be found here.  Please note there is very limited parking at registration.

Entry Fees: SAL Registered £8, Others £10. Entry on day (if available and not been available any year so far!) +£2.

Race limited to 350 runners (plus 150 places in the Anniversary Series)

All finishers will receive an anniversary goody bag.

Prizes (cash/vouchers) will be awarded for first, second and third male and female, as well as age group prizes. This year there will also be additional TEAM PRIZES (first three teams). To qualify a team must have a minimum of 5 counters, with the three fastest counting for a team prize.

Results will be lodged on the club website, race Facebook page and on the SAL/Power of 10 websites.

The race is an accurately measured course and is a SA Licenced event held under UKA rules.
