Tay Fitness Killin 10K and Fun Run
26 Aug 2017
The 'Tay Fitness Killin 10K' returns for its 7th year and will take place on Saturday 26th August 2017 at 12pm. The last 3 years have SOLD OUT so sign up quickly to ensure you don't miss out in 2017. The event takes place in the picturesque village of Killin and is open to people of all fitness levels aged 15 years and older.
The Killin 10K route for 2017 starts and finishes in Breadalbane Park. The new section of the route takes runners slightly uphill up Main St to cross the Dochart Bridge before joining the old railway line which runs parallel to the river. After crossing the river for the second time over the old rail viaduct (don't forget to admire the view) runners will emerge back at the McLaren Hall where they will rejoin the normal route. After 2.5Km runners leave the village and run up Glen Lochay. The route continues into Glen Lochay and past the hydro station where runners turn and head for the finish after they climb the short but sharp hill! This middle 6Km follows a beautiful undulating loop of Glen Lochay on a single track road. In the last 1.5 Km you will rejoin the main road back into Killin before returning to the village and finishing in Breadalbane Park. The final few hundred metres takes you over a short section of grass on to the park path and across the finish line to collect your medal!
Starting just after the Killin 10K there will be a fun run. The run will start and finish in the park ensuring there is plenty of atmosphere and fun for all participants. The fun run is open to anyone over 5 years old although younger children may run with adult supervision.
All finishers in the 10K and fun run events will be given a medal and refreshments. For more information please visit www.killin10k.co.uk or email
