Relays require a minium of 2 participants to cover the 3 disciplines. Ideally you would have 3 per team, do one disciplline each and spread the load. :-)

Starting with a 300m pool swim, a 24km bike through the countryside and a fast, flat 5km run along Harwich promenade, with coastal views and great opportunities for spectators to cheer you on.

Race HQ and transition area are adjacent to Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles Pool, Low Road, CO12 3TA.

The race will start after the Junior race at approximately 10:00, with a rolling start of women first followed by men.

The Junior races are all based at Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles swimming pool and will involve a pool swim, a cycle on grass and a run on grass.

The event is open to children aged 8-15. Ages are based on the child's age as of 31st December 2026 (for example, all children born in the year 2018 are considered 8 years old for the event and can take part). This aging system is used for the age categories too (so a person who is 12 on the day of the race but 13 before 31st December 2025 will race in the 13-15 age category). Please consider this when entering, as the distances are slightly longer.

To make it as accessible as possible, we offer three distances for age groups: Under 9s, 9-12s and 13+.

• Children Under 9: 50m pool swim, 1km cycle on grass, and 600m run on grass.

• Children Aged 9-12: 150m pool swim, 2km cycle on grass and a 1.2km run on grass.

• Children Aged 13-15: 150m pool swim, 3km cycle on grass and a 2.4km run on grass.

Juniors taking part must have their own road-worthy bike (no stabilisers) and helmet. All sections of the event must be unassisted, and therefore all juniors taking part must be confident they can independently complete all three disciplines of the triathlon (but we have plenty of super friendly and helpful marshals who will be on hand throughout all of the transitions and sections of the race). 

Medals will be awarded to all finishers!
