The Goose Fair Gallop, Sunday 13th October 2024

Race start: 10:00 am

This is our 38th year of hosting this event and we are very pleased to announce, the start will again be on the stunning Bennerley Viaduct heading into Bennerley Woodland before running along the Erewash Canal, down the Nottingham Canal, along country trails before heading back towards the Bennerley Viaduct to run back along it and down into the race village.

The race will start as a mass start at 10:00am. We ask runners, once on the Bennerley Viaduct to assemble in your predicted time area.

The conditions underfoot vary from canal paths, gravel paths, un-kept trails to smooth pavement. 

Entry numbers are limited to 300 participants, and it will not be possible to enter on the day.

Finishers will receive a bobble hat and a ecofriendly medal plus complimentary water.

Winners:

Overall Male and Female winners will receive a Decathlon* voucher and a winners *coaster.

There will be tropheys for the winning male team and the winning female team. The team must consist of 3 runners.

Race Village: Bennerley Viaduct, Shilo Way, Awsworth, Nottingham.

Entry Requirements: Participants must be amateur runners and over 18 years of age on the day of the race.

Race Numbers: Race numbers with timing chip on the rear will be available to collect on race day from 8am. 

Transfers: Entries are non-refundable and non-deferrable. You can transfer your entry online to another runner by following the transfer process up until 30th September 2024. An admin charge of £2 will be payable on race day. 

Duct Duct Goose Fun Run: This year we are hosting our first fun run. The start time is 9am. Online entries are available at Goose Fair Gallop Duct Duct Goose Fun Run - EntryCentral We advise to enter online to avoid disappointment on the day. The fun run fee is £5, the event is limited to a maximum 100 participants. If not sold out online we will open entries on the day.

All entrants will get to keep the goose they have retrieved, at the turn round point and be awarded with a medal at the end of the race.

The route will be approximately 2km, starting on the Bennerley Viaduct heading into Bennerley Woodland, to the turn round point to collect a goose, before heading down the Erewash Canal towpath and back along the Bennerley Viaduct into the race village to collect an ecofriendly medal.
