Berkeley 10k 2023

Please note online entry only... deadline extended to 10pm Saturday night!!

The Berkeley 10k is a fast race on level quiet roads in the surrounds of Berkeley and is suitable for wheelchair athletes. The race starts in the vicinity of the old Berkeley Power Station and heads down for two loops of the centre of Berkeley before returning to the start point. There are changing facilities and toilets and this year the race forms the highlight of a one off running festival on Coronation Bank Holiday Monday, so note the earlier than usual start time.

The race is part of the Gloucestershire AAA road race series and also the county 10k road race championship for 2023.

The festival offers the innaugural Berkeley mile race to start the day and has refreshments and an afternoon of racing and novelty events for younger runners before the 10k.

As an extra attraction we will offer a special cash prize for the lowest  combined One mile and 10k time  (Both male and female)

As usual we don't give medals or tee shirts but each finisher gets a bottle of beer or soft drink and the balance of all proceeds go to club charities. However we do give cash and wine prizes for the first three men and women home and prizes for all the age group winners in 5-year steps. Additionally there are team prizes for teams of four men and three women.

Berkeley Mile 2023

Please note online entry only for this race but deadline extended to 10pm Saturday night!!!

This is the launch of a new one mile road race over a measured fairly level and straight course on a private road.  Chip timed, it consists of a run down to the car park, a short clockwise loop and then back past the start up to a  large roundabout. This is encircled to return to the start. There is one short descent into the car park which presents a short rise as you leave the car park.

We will award cash prizes to the 1st 2nd and 3rd male and female runners plus cash prizes for winners of all age groups rising in 5-year intervals. There are also prizes for u15, u17 and u20 runners.

There will also be a special cash prize for the lowest male and female combined times for the one mile and 10k races.

Berkeley Festival 5k multi terrain

Please note that the deadline for online entries has been extended to 10pm Saturday night but that we are also accepting on the day entries until 45 mins before the race.

This approximately 5k multi terrain race is open to both young athletes from school year 8 and upwards as well as adults who want a steady jog around a fairly level course mixing roads and some grass with a section of the Severn Way. It starts and finishes outside race HQ, the college canteen (Where Berkeley Green Parkrun goes from) and has two identical laps.

There will be a medal for all finishers and gold and silver medals for m and f leaders in race overall and gold for best other m and f in u16, u60 and 60+ age groups.

Berkeley Festival 2k multi terrain

Please note that the deadline for online entries has been extended to 10pm on Saturday night but that we are also accepting on the day entries until 45 minutes before the race.

This approximately 2k multi terrain race is open to young athletes from school years 3 to 9 inclusive on race day. The single loop course is different from the 5k but also mixes roads and some grass with a short section of woodland. It starts and finishes outside race HQ, the college canteen (Where Berkeley Green Parkrun goes from).

There will be an ice cream for all finishers and small prizes for fastest boy and girl in Y3/4, Y5/6, Y7/8 and Y9 groups.
