Child Wellbeing & Protection in Sport (CWPS) Renewal

The Child Wellbeing & Protection in Sport (CWPS) Renewal award is ONLY available as an update to the CWPS Training Course (ie you must have completed the full CWPS training up to 3 years previously, to be able to access the renewal course). This online self-directed course allows you to renew your CWPS without having to attend a classroom style session. 

The renewal award consists of 3 modules:

Module 1 – Everyone must complete this one - Same as the CWPS course, which includes child safeguarding and definitions; rights of a child; professional and moral responsibilities; code of conduct 

Then complete two from the following three modules:

The Safeguarding Children in a Digital World eLearning Module contains new knowledge based around safeguarding children in today's modern electronic environment.

The Introduction to Inclusive Practice eLearning Module is based on the popular course developed by our partners at Scottish Disability Sport (SDS) and provides a basic introduction into good practice when encouraging disability inclusivity in sporting activities. 

The Child Mental Health and Wellbeing eLearning Module is designed to increase understanding around what is meant by ‘mental health and wellbeing’, it introduces some of the common mental health problems for children and young people and helps provide an understanding of who to signpost to. 

The CWPS renewal award is valid for 3 years, after which time you are required to complete the virtual/classroom CWPS award.

How to access the module?

sportscotland will make the module available to you on their learning platform (brightspace). This can take up to 10 days from booking.

You will be sent an email directly from Brightspace within ten days from booking - this will be titled 'sportscotland: Enrolment Confirmation'. This will come from: d2lsupport@learninginsport.brightspace.com. Please check your junk and spam folders as some email accounts filter this email out because it is auto-generated.

Once the module is opened to you, you have three months to complete this self directed course which in total equates to roughly 3 hours of learning.

Booking Details 

This workshop is FREE of charge, and only available to Triathlon Scotland members who completed the CWPS online course through Triathlon Scotland.

If you wish to renew your CWPS from another governing body please contact sportscotland direct.
