Organiser's Description

Join Perth Road Runners for the 24th running of the Brig Bash!

This is a Scottish Athletics licensed event (licence number 12234)

 

RACE DISTANCE & DESCRIPTION

The course is an accurately measured and SA certified 5 miles run on predominantly “B” class roads. It is a flat (fast) course, perfect for a PB!

ENTRY INFORMATION

£12.00 (S.A. members £10.00)

Strictly no entries on the day, no number transfers, no refunds and no deferrals.

Entries will close on Wednesday 21st June at 23:59.

All entrants must be 16 years or over on race day.

You will need a valid EntryCentral account to enter.

 

CAR PARKING

Limited car parking will be available at Dunbarney Primary School, Bridge of Earn, PH2 9DY. Please car share where possible. Please ensure you park considerately as it is a residential area.

 

START TIME/REGISTRATION/FACILITIES

Race start time: 7.30pm on Wednesday 5th July.

Registration: Registration will be from 18:00 to 19:10, in the Bridge of Earn Institute, 123 Station Rd, Bridge of Earn, Perth PH2 9EA.
You will receive your number with chip timing. Please ensure you wear your number on your front and it is clearly visible throughout the race. For safety and insurance reasons, swapping of race numbers is strictly prohibited. Runners must use the race number they have been allocated and must not transfer their number to somebody else.

Anyone caught transferring numbers will be disqualified and may be banned from future events as this can have serious implications if a runner becomes unwell during the event.

Race start location: The race starts at the Manse Road/Chaise Road junction – this is a couple of minutes along the road from the Bridge of Earn Institute. Please allow time to get there before the race starts for the race briefing.

Toilet facilities: Toilets are available at the Bridge of Earn Institute but there are no changing facilities so please turn up ready to run.

The race is run under UK Athletics Rules and is a Scottish Athletics licensed event.

HEADPHONES - PLEASE NOTE: Given the nature of the course and for the safety of all runners it is important that all runners can hear instructions from marshalls. Therefore, the use of ANY headphones (including bone conducting ones) during the race is NOT PERMITTED. Anyone ignoring this rule will be disqualified from the race. If you can't run without them, then please don't enter.

 

FINISHING TIMES/RESULTS

As this race will be chip timed you will receive your official finishing time soon after the event. Results will be published on our Brig Bash Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/brigbash and the Perth Road Runners website shortly afterwards http://www.perthroadrunners.co.uk/

 

AWARDS PRESENTATION

The presentation of awards will commence at around 8.40pm in the Bridge of Earn Institute. All racers are encouraged to show their support.

One prize per entrant, except for team prizes, fastest 1st mile (and record) and course record

FASTEST 1st MILE

There will be a cash prize of £20 for the fastest 1st mile - male and female

There will also be a cash prize of £20 if the fastest 1st mile record is broken - male and female

The winners of the Fastest 1st Mile must complete the rest of the race to qualify for the prizes.

POST RACE REFRESHMENTS

The legendary Perth Road Runners post-race buffet including delicious home baking and tea, coffee and juice will be available for all runners free of charge! In an effort to reduce our paper and plastic waste, please bring your own reusable plate and mug.
