Borders Cross Country winter series 2023/24

Junior race starts at 11:15am

Senior Race Starts at 12 noon.

A very popular series of real cross-country races. Entry closes 18th October 2023.

Welcome to the Borders XC 2023/24. 

In response to the ever-increasing pre-race administration the Velcro wristband will no longer be used. 

The Borders Cross Country Committee has now introduced a streamlined and more efficient system. Instead of the Velcro wristband, an NFC (Near Field Communication) chip will now be affixed to the back of your bib number. This chip will be swiftly scanned at the end of the finish funnel, accurately recording your position and seamlessly synchronizing it with your time as you crossed the line. 

The cost of the series remains good value for now and the future. 

Senior Cost: £40 for the series. 

Seniors will receive a £16 discount for membership of Scottish athletics or English Athletics, this equates to an entry cost of £24. (Please activate your discount by adding a valid membership number to entry form).

As a responsible runner and/or spectator I agree: 

  1. To act with dignity and display courtesy and good manners towards all others at all times – before, during and after the event.  
  2. To avoid swearing, the use of abusive language, bullying, harassment, acts of violence, physical abuse and irresponsible behavior (which might be dangerous to me and others);  
  3. To respect the rights, dignity, and worth of all those present and treat everyone equally;
  4. To consistently promote positive aspects of the sport such as fair play and never condone rule violations.  
  5. And, in order to uphold the ethos of the series, to refrain from posting inappropriate messages and/or photographs on social media

All participants require to be aware and adhere to the UK Athletics Anti Doping policy, please click here for a copy of the UK Athletics anti doping rules.

Any runner who does not adhere to this Code of Conduct will be asked by their club not to take part in any remaining legs of the current series and any points accumulated to date will be discounted; if the runner subsequently ignores this request and runs in a future leg, then they will not be credited with any points.  

Any spectator who does not adhere to this Code of Conduct will be asked by their club not to attend any remaining legs of the current series.

Start:

The race starts at 11:15am for juniors and 12:00 noon  for seniors. Please note that the organisers may delay the start of senior events if time is needed to complete junior races.

Each runner will keep their own unique Bib number and will wear this at every race. Numbers MUST be worn on the front and be clearly visible.
