Gartmorn 6 and Junior race

This Festival is in a testing state, and is not open for public sign-ups until the organiser has launched it.

Organiser's Description

Early Bird Pricing!

Entries made to the senior race by 31st December 2023 will benefit from an early bird price of £15/£13. Entries to the senior race beyond this date will be £18/£16. Race fees for the junior race remain at the 2023 price.  

Chip Timing

The introduction of chipped timing and receiving a personal timing print out immediate post-race was well received last year so will feature again this year using Perfect Timing Scotland with on-bib chip timing. 

Date and time

Both events take place on Sunday 10th March 2024

The Senior event will start at 10:00am 

The Junior event will start at 10:15am

Entries

Juniors age 8+ on the day of the event

Seniors age 16+ on the day of the event

Race start point

Both races start and finish on Carsebridge Road, Sauchie, Alloa

The Junior event is approx. 2 miles (3km)

The Senior event follows a 6 mile route

Entry Fee

The Junior race entry fee is £7.00

The Senior race entry fee is £13.00(early bird)/£16.00(full price) for SAF Non-members and £15.00(early bird)/£18.00(full price) for Non-SAF members.

There is a race limit of 100 runners in the Junior race and 350 in the Senior race

No refunds will be made if you enter and then are unable to particpate. You can nominate another runner  to take your place and we will substitute them for you

If the race cannot take place on the date scheduled for reasons outwith our control, we will reschedule the event and carry your entry forward to the revised date

The course

The races take place on a multi-terrain route

Seniors will run through woodland and complete one lap of Gartmorn Dam before returning to the start

Juniors will run through woodland and along farmtrack to return to the start

There are no water stations on the course although there will be water at the finish.
In an effort to be environmentally friendly we no longer hand out bottled water.
Instead water will be supplied via a water urn so please bring your own cup or bottle.

There is parking available in the vicinity of the race start and registration HQ.

Registration

You must COLLECT your race number on the morning of the race. Numbers will NOT be sent out by post. Competitors are required to collect their number and complete registration by 9:30am.

Timing

Timing will be done using on-bib chips. There may be inconsistencies between the official timing and your own GPS watch, the recorded chip time will be your official time.

Changing Facilities

We recommend that you come along ready to run. The organisers accept no responsibility for personal belongings left unattended. There are no showers available.

Refreshments

Sandwiches, cakes, tea and coffee will be provided free of charge after the event although donations are gratefully accepted.  All donations will be forwarded to a local charity of the club's choosing.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded in Race HQ at approximately 11:30

Junior prizes will be awarded to 1st/2nd/3rd male and female in the following categories

  • Junior U12 - age 8 to 11 on race day
  • Junior U14 - age 12 to 13 on race day
  • Junior U16 - age 14 to 15 on race day

Senior prizes will be awarded in the following categories

  • Male: 1st/2nd/3rd
  • 1st Male 40+, 50+, 60+
  • Female: 1st/2nd/3rd
  • 1st Female 40+, 50+, 60+

The organisers reserve the right to alter the arrangements and conditions should circumstances require. Competitors agree that results with names, times and positions can be published. Competitors consent to the official event photographers taking photographs and the publication of those photographs for promotional uses.  We do not guarantee having an event photographer.
