Jedburgh Three Peaks 38 mile ultramarathon

A huge welcome to the tenth running of the Jedburgh Three Peaks ultramarathon!

Distance: 38 miles

Race date and time: Saturday 28th October 2023, 8:00am

Location: Jedburgh, TD8 6JQ

Entry fee: £60 (£58 for members of ScottishAthletics)

Entry limit: 300 (then waiting list)

Event information

The race starts and finishes in Jedburgh. Event parking is in the Lothian car park (TD8 6JQ) just off the A68 main road through the town. Race registration is in the Jed Thistle Pavilion right beside the car park, from 6:30am - 7:45am. Changing facilities are available in the Pavilion, and runners may leave kitbags in the changing rooms during the race. 

We use electronic timing and provide live updates online.

The race will be fully route marked. A GPX file of the route is available on the race website.

There are checkpoints at 10, 17, 21, and 28 miles. Water and Coke is provided at all checkpoints. Drop bags (supplied by yourself) are available at 10, 17, and 28 miles. 

Compulsory kit: Emergency foil blanket, waterproof top or jacket with hood, fully charged and switched on mobile phone. All runners MUST carry these items at all times while running.

All runners receive a tech t-shirt (if requested). If you do not want a t-shirt, you can either pay a reduced entry fee, or donate the cost of your t-shirt to our chosen charities. All finishers receive a race medal and goody bag.

Changing/showering facilities are available for all runners in the Jed Thistle Pavilion. Once again we will be providing FREE tea/coffee and two choices of home made vegan soup served with freshly baked focaccia for all runners.

Trophies for the first three finishers in each gender category. Age category trophies for first V50, V60 and V70 in each gender category. Spot prizes for happy friendly runners who particularly stand out :-)

As ever, profits from the Jedburgh Three Peaks ultramarathon and relay race will be donated to various charities and local groups of our choosing. When submitting your race entry, there is also the opportunity to make a donation to our chosen charity for 2023, the Borders Children's Charity, SC026072.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY: Deferring your entry to 2025 is not possible, neither is selling your race place or transferring it to another runner. A 50% refund is available from the organisers until August 31st. From September 1st, no refunds can be provided UNLESS the event is full and we have an active waiting list. Please, no grumbling about our conditions! If you want to protect your full entry fee against withdrawal, please take out the optional Booking Protect insurance offered at the point of payment.

 

A word from The Management: We are LGBTIQ+ friendly. We are nonbinary friendly. We are friendly to everyone, really. You can enter our race as female, male or nonbinary. If you are trans, you are welcome to run in the gender category with which you identify, as per current Scottish Athletics policy. Event portaloos are all gender neutral. Our female, male and nonbinary changing rooms are communal, however private changing/showering facilities are available for any runner who requests them - please email us prior to race day to arrange. We are proud signatories of the Scottish LGBT Sports Charter, and are fully committed to upholding all of its principles :-)

Jedburgh Three Peaks 38 mile relay race

A big welcome to the seventh Jedburgh Three Peaks Relay Race!

Distance: 10+7+11+10 miles

Race date and time: Saturday 28th October 2023, 8:00am

Location: Jedburgh, TD8 6JQ

Entry limit: 25 teams

Entry fee: £120 per team (4 runners)

All team members must be aged 20+ on race day

Entry Information 

Entries for the relay race will initially be open for ONE WEEK. If more than 25 teams apply, entries will close on Sunday October 9th at 6:00pm and places will be allocated by ballot. If fewer than 25 teams apply, all will be allocated a place and entries will remain open with further places being allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, up to a maximum of 25 team places.

When submitting an entry, the name/address you give should be that of the Team Captain. A Team Captain can submit only ONE team entry - you cannot be a captain of more than one team! You will be asked to provide names of at least TWO other team members. If these are not provided your entry will be cancelled.

All we need now are names, nothing else. Full runner information can be provided later (All names, dates of birth, mobile numbers, t-shirt sizes and medical information MUST be provided by midnight on Sun 15th October 2023. As a matter of runner safety, any teams not providing this information by this date will have their entries cancelled, and no refunds will be given...)

 

Event Information

Leg 1: Jedburgh - Maxton - 10 miles

Leg 2: Maxton - Rhymer's Stone - 7 miles

Leg 3: Rhymer's Stone - Maxton - 11 miles

Leg 4 Maxton - Jedburgh (Finish) - 10 miles

Trophies will be awarded to the first female team, the first male team, the first nonbinary team, the first mixed team (any mix of genders), and the first veteran team (all 60+, any mix of genders). Additionally, we will be giving out spot prizes to teams who catch our eye for whatever reason, usually competely unrelated to running ability.

As ever, profits from the Jedburgh Three Peaks ultramarathon and relay race will be donated to various charities and local groups of our choosing. When registering and paying via EntryCentral there is also the opportunity to make a donation to our chosen charity, which this year is Borders Children's Charity, SC026072.

If you want to protect your full entry fee against a last minute withdrawal of the entire team, please take out the optional Booking Protect insurance offered at the point of payment.

All teams MUST have motorised vehicle backup. A team MUST be a minimum of TWO and a maximum of FOUR people. We expect that most teams will be made up of four runners with each running one leg, however teams of two and three people are also permitted. Entry fee is still £120. Runners who will be doing more than one leg may choose whether to run two consecutive legs, or two separate legs with a break in between.
