We are excited to invite you to join us for the Scottish National Duathlon Championships at St Andrews Autumn Duathlon Festival 2023. We offer a Novice Duathlon alongside our main event, as a friendly race aimed at those just starting out. Races are open to all, from complete beginners up to seasoned triathletes. 

Race entry includes a post-race pack including race memento. Please note, non-Triathlon Scotland Members are welcome, but Triathlon Scotland will only provide a medal to those placing at the event if they are a member of Triathlon Scotland as this is a Scottish Championship event. Triathlon Scotland membership can be bought here: www.triathlonscotland.org/membership.

Relay teams of 2 or 3 can enter the main duathlon at the same price; please put your name under one person and tick off if you are entering as a team on the questionnaire. For each leg of the race, only ONE team member will participate.

St Andrews Autumn Duathlon 2024

The duathlon consists of a Run/Cycle/Run format over a distance of 5km/25km/2.5km.

This race is open to all aged 15 and over with racers under 18 needing explicit parental consent that can be emailed to us at: triathlon@st-andrews.ac.uk . This is a non drafting race. Additional measures will be implemented due to COVID-19 if necessary.

Note: The 5k Run course has changed from last year to avoid confusion, the route will be two laps of the 2.5k course. The Bike course has changed from previous years and we acknowledge the fact that it is slightly longer than the usual sprint duathlon length. The course was changed to eliminate a right turn across a busy road that caused unfair delays, and also due to safety concerns over the quality of road on the Nydie hill descent and the blind corner on it. The new course should provide a faster, fairer and safer race for all.

St Andrews Autumn Novice Duathlon 2024

The race is open to all and a perfect race for beginners. 

The race will also be a Run/Cycle/Run format with a shorter course of 2.5km/10km/2.5km.

About Triathlon Scotland

Triathlon Scotland GDPR Statement

You agree that we may publish your personal information as part of the results of the event, and will pass such information to any governing body or any affiliated organisation for the purpose of insurance, licences, or the publishing of results, either for the event alone, or combined with, or compared to other events.  Results may include, but are not limited to first name, surname, date of birth, age category, result, penalties and any club / home country / regional affiliation.

You also agree that in the event of a disciplinary or welfare incident that you are either involved in or witness, we may pass on your personal information to British Triathlon and/or the relevant Home Nation association or any relevant Authorities for the purpose of supporting any investigatory activity into that incident.

Parking

Limited parking is available at the University Sports Centre and Buchanan Gardens with more extensive parking available at the Petheram Bridge car park (free).

Refund Policy 

At the organiser's discretion, refunds (minus credit card processing fees) will be issued to any competitor who withdraws from the event more than 14 days before the event. Withdrawals after that date will be refunded if, and only if the competitors place can be filled from a waiting list. No refunds will be issued after 08/09/24.
