^{MID ESSEX CASUALS present the 16th Scouting for boys and girls self navigation trail (no marshalls, GPX or route markings) of 13, 7 or 4ml on Sunday July 26th 2026 from 9:30 at The Scout Hut, Church Road, Hatfield Peverel CM3 2LD}

Held under UK Athletics rules with TRA Permit 8367 - No dogs allowed.

Runners and Walkers welcome, minimum age for solo runners is 17 yrs. The hut will open for registration, toilets and staggered starts from 9:30am. Entry fee £9 affiliated or £11 unaffiliated, no refunds. Includes free post race ploughmans lunch and drink.

The route is mainly off road on footpaths, tracks and field edges with some short road sections (not suitable for spikes), a narrative will be supplied to each entrant, there are NO markings or marshalls, a self service drink stations will be provided at approx halfway in the 13 miler. First aid and defib available at the finish.
