CORNHILL HIGHLAND GAMES 2024

10K ROAD RACE & KNOCK HILL RACE

For both races, competitors leave the Games' field at approximately 11:00am, running through the town then heading towards the Knock Hill.

The 10K follows the same route as the Knock Hill Race until the bottom of the hill, where they turn back along the route, heading back to the Games' field and then run a celebratory final 200 meters track around the arena with spectators cheering the runners to the finish line.

The famous Knock Hill Race is a total of 8.5 miles, covering the distance from Cornhill to the top of the Knock Hill and back to the Cornhill Games' field. The Knock Hill Race also runs a celebatory final 200 meters track around the arena with spectators cheering the runners to the finish line. It is a gruelling task but it is worth it in the end. The front runners are usually back within an hour and the marshals will begin to head back to the Games' field after 1 hour 50 minutes. 

The first Knock Hill Race took place in 1970, as a fundraiser towards creating a playing field for Cornhill. It was a great success and has became an annual event. 2024 will be the 52nd Knock Hill Race to take place. 

Toilets will be available at the Cornhill Highland Games.

Entry fee is £12 for both races

Entry fee includes: a medal

                               a hospitality ticket for a free tea/coffee and cake

                               free entry to the Cornhill Highland Games 

Registration will take place at 9.45am - 10.30am at a gazebo near the gate to the Cornhil Highland Games.

1st Prize Male/Female                       £50.00

2nd Prize Male/Female                      £30.00

3rd Prize Male/Female                       £15.00

A trophy will be presented to the 1st runner from the local Parish to complete the Knock Hill Race.
