Avon AA Open Meeting & Avon Championship Events

Tuesday 30th June 2026

SGS WISE, Stoke Gifford Stadium,

Stoke Gifford, Bristol, BS34 8LP.

Avon County AA are holding an Open Meeting on Tuesday 30th June under UKA Rules, Licence No OUT 26/??? and is part of a number of Open meetings being organised by Avon through the summer with details to below:

  • Masters Open (35 years old and older only), 28th June at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex - https://meets.rosterathletics.com/public/competitions/details/about?id=24741
  • Avon AA Open Meeting for all ages on Tuesday 1st September at SGS WISE - https://www.entrycentral.com/festival/3466

All three Open meetings welcome para athletes.  If you are a para athlete wishing to compete, please make contact so we can make the neccesary preparations - sagrant@blueyonder.co.uk

Open events are available for Under 12 and Under 11 athletes (Quadkids - 75m, 600m, Standing Long Jump (SLJ) & Howler Throw) and older age categories from U13s to Masters.  This meeting incorporates the Avon Championship Quadkids and U13 & U15 1500m events.

Entries are on-line only.  The Closing date for entries is Thursday 28th June. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED. 

Eligibility 

Any athlete is welcome to enter Open events.  The Avon Championship for Quadkids will be incorparated into the Open event.  The U14 & /U16 1500m Championships will also be incorporated in to the Open races unless there are sufficient entries to justify separate races.

Age Group Qualifications ???

Quad Kids eligibility - Age qualifications for this will be U10 (Year 4) - Age 9 on 31st August 2024, 

U11 (Year 5) - Age 10 on 31st August 2024.

U13 yrs 6/7 - Age 11 or 12 on 31st August 2024

U15 yrs 8/9 - Age 13 or 14 on 31st August 2024

U17 yrs 10/11 - Age 15 or 16 on 31st August 2024

U20 - 18 or 19 years on 31st December 2024

Seniors & Masters - 20 or older on 31st December 2024

Photo-finish will not be used at this event

Field Events - there are unavoidable Track & Field event timing conflicts and athletes will be accommodated without losing any of their trials.  Field eventers should make the relevant field officials aware they are present prior to reporting for any conflicting events.

NOTES

Quadkids report to their first field event and then progress without a break to the second field event.

 

 Maximum number of events is 3 for U14s, U16s and U18s.

 Competitors in the horizontal jumps will be allowed a minimum of 4 trials.

Fees: 

Quad Kids: £5 per athlete.

U13s and older:  £7 for first event; £3 for a second event and £2 for a third event.

 

Avon AA and Yate & District AC are jointly are jointly organising a Masters Open (aged 35 and over only) at Yate Outdoor Sports Centre (YOSC) on Sunday the 28th June:
