Avon County AA Championships

Organiser's Description

27th of March - Unfortunately the Avon Championships have been called off for now and we will need to wait on advice before confirming if they can be re-arranged.

All entrants will receive a refund and can re-apply if another suitable date can be found.

The Avon County AA Championships will be held on Saturday 9 May 2020 under UKA Rules and Licence Number OUT 20/287.

Entries for the Championships can only be made on-line.

Athletes must be registered with an athletics body to compete e.g. England Athletics or Welsh Athletics, unless studying at school or college.  Any school or college students who are not registered with an appropriate body should contact the entry organiser using the contact details listed below.

The Closing date for entries is Sunday 3 May. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED.


£7 for first event; £2 for each subsequent event

U13, U15, U17: Avon AA championship medals will be awarded for first 3 Avon Qualified Athletes

U20, Senior: Avon AA championship medal will be awarded to the winning eligible athlete only.

We will do our best to stick closely to this timetable but it is dependent on entry numbers. A final timetable will be available on the Avon AA website (www.avon-aa.org.uk) asap after the closing date for entries. It is your responsibility to check the time of your event and to arrive at least 40 minutes prior to this to collect your numbers. We reserve the right to withdraw events with only 1 competitor entered, and will refund any entry fees for these events.

The U13 & U15 1500m CHAMPIONSHIP RACES WILL BE HELD AT THE AVON, BRISTOL & WEST AND YATE & DISTRICT OPEN MEETING AT THE YATE OUTDOOR SPORTS COMPLEX ON WEDNESDAY 20 MAY 2020. Entries and fees for these 1500m races MUST be made in advance at https://www.entrycentral.com/festival/2121. No entries will be allowed on the night for these 1500m races. The timetable for the Open meeting is available on the same site.

The U20 and Senior 5000m Championship races will be held as part of the Bristol & West Fast 5000s meeting on Saturday 25 July. Entries must be made in advance at https://www.entrycentral.com/event/112035. Entries close on 11 July.

Qualification for finals:- If 2 heats 1st 3 and 2 on time; If 3 heats 1st 2 and 2 on time and if 4 heats winners and 4 on time.

Maximum number of events is 3 for U13s, U15s and U17s; 5 for U20s; and unlimited for Seniors.


Track Events

Athletes must report to the Starter's marksperson adjacent to the start line of their race. This needs to be done 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of the race however if there are heats in the age group event then it must be 15 minutes before the first heat.

Field Events

Athletes must report to the event location and report to the Field event lead official. This needs to be done at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the event to allow time to be ready to compete on time.
