Course distance is 5KM and is marked out, manned by Marshalls. A map is available at the start / finish. The course is comprised of grass trail and rough farm track and has a couple of styles. It is not suitable for wheelchair/pushchair access. Some of the route is not normally public access/footpath and is accessible today by kind permission of landowner. Please keep to the marked footpath / indicated route. All dogs STRICTLY on a SHORT non-retractable leash. Please let us know if you have any access concerns or questions about the course. The personal information gathered by Castle Bytham Midsummer Festival (CBMF) when you return your entry form will only be used for administering the event. Certain details such as your name, and age, but not contact data, may appear on results emails, text messages and could even appear in newspapers.
Watch out for our resident Farmer Bytham, he was chasing runners around the course last year shouting 'get off my land' dont get caught or you might be given a bag of haribo!
We welcome under 11s to participate in the event. If under 11 years of age on race day, the permission of a parent or guardian to take part in this race is required. Also you must be accompanied on race day by either your parent or an adult who will run with you. To enter, first the adult (parent, gaurdian, or accompanying adult) should sign up on Entry Central. Once signed up they can then add young persons to their profile. Once you are added to an adults profile you can sign up. Please note the contact details of your accompanying adult are required with your entry application and the application will be checked to ensure the adult is registered to run before being processed. This may result in a short delay in processing your application.
