A different time of year for 2020.  Making the most of the Autumn trails before the mud takes over!

The venue: Admirals Park is situated in the county town of Chelmsford, Essex.  Those of you who do the local parkrun will know our start/finish location as "The hill!"....others as the venue for the summer beer festival.

Parking: A pay and display car park is nearby, but has limited spaces.  There are further car parks near the Fire Station that has a short walk to Admirals Park   There are plenty of further car-parks in town.  Bicycle racking is located at the start finish area too, so ideal for those who live locally and/or triathletes in training please ride on over.

Registration: Registration is open from 10.30am until 11.20am near the start /finish line located at the to off the hill from the toilet block.

This is where you will collect your race bag that contains your race number, high vis' event tee-shirt and an energy gel or bar.  Safety pins are available at registration too.  We encourage you to wear the event T-shirt during the race to help you stand out!

TRA club members:  please show us your TRA membership cards to confirm your eligibility for the discount received when you complete the online registration process (£2 fee if you forget it.) 

Race numbers to be worn unfolded on your front so we can identify you at check points.

Race Briefing 1125hrs.  VIPER 15 RACE START IS 1130hrs.  GRASS SNAKE 10 START 1135hrs.   Cut off is 1530hrs for both distances.

This is a mainly an off-road run with some sections on the open road, so headphones and similar are banned on safety grounds.

A full narrative for both distances will be available to download from our website from March 2020.  

Follow bright pink and yellow marker paint along with the bright orange tape.  Limited signs on course to minimise the chances of route sabotage!  15 follow pink & yellow on the way out then just the pink from 5.2 miles, 10 mile runners at this point will take a left turn.  15 mile runners will follow the yellow paint from 9 miles (a right turn on the return leg). 

Dog runners are allowed, but must be on a lead at all times.  Deer, rabbits, horses and cattle are all a possible feature of the route!

You will be given a bottle of water at the start.  If you wish to carry it with you, you can fill it up with fresh water at the aid station. 

No littering on course.  If you can take it out with you, you can bring it back too.  Besides, if you're seen dropping litter you get DQ'd!

You'll pass the water station twice.  Please pause so we can record your number (safety head count). 

You are expected to be self sufficient on the run.  We may have a lead bike and will have a backmarker marshall sweeping the course.  First aid help will be available, but due to the terrain it may take some time to reach you.

At the finish line of the race collect a finishers medal, help yourself to cupped water, then head home to recover!
