RACE DATE AND TIME
Saturday 13th March 2027
Race starts - 0100hrs
Registration from 0000hrs (midnight)
RACE INFORMATION
The route follows the old Deeside Railway Line out to Aboyne and back.
There are toilets at registration and in Duthie Park. Also at the turn around in the Pavilion on Aboyne Green. CGM Ultra Racing will not be providing toilets out on the course. This is due to the difficulties in gaining permission from the various landowners on which the course passes through.
The course will be well marked but it is the runners responsibility to ensure they know the route.
To reduce our waste, this race is cupless, meaning that whilst we will provide water at the designated water stations, we will not be giving out plastic cups. Our marshals will be happy to fill your own bottles or cups with water during the race.
There will be Water Stations/Drop Bags as follows:
Water Station / Drop Bag - approx 17 miles (Banchory).
Water Station/Drop Bag - half way point in Aboyne. Runners can be met by 1 support if they wish.
Water Station/Drop Bag - at the half way point of the D33. (approx 49 miles)
Water Station/Drop Bag - at the 3/4 way point of the D33. (approx 57 miles)
Drop bags should be no bigger than a large freezer zip bag and be clearly marked with your race number.
CUT OFF
To ensure the safety of the Race Team and runners we have introduced 3 cut off points.
The first cut off will be 0800hrs at the 1/2 way checkpoint (approx 33 miles)
The second cut off will be at 1230hrs at the D33 1/2 checkpoint (approx 49 miles)
The third cut off will be at 1430hrs at the D33 1/4 checkpoint (approx 57 miles)
If you fail to reach the cut offs on time, an X will be placed through your race number, you will automatically be marked as a DNF and asked to stop( you will have to make your own way back from there). Should you decide to continue (we cannot force you to stop), you do so at your own risk, CGM Ultra Racing takes no responsibility should anything occur on the course thereafter. However, for everyone's consideration, we respectfully ask you not to continue if you have failed to meet the cut off.
NO SUPPORT RUNNERS ARE PERMITTED but if you want to meet someone at the half way point with food/drink then that is ok with us.
WITHDRAWALS
If at any point during the race, you need to withdraw (DNF), please contact one of the Race Organisers or the nearest marshal.
You will be responsible for findng your own transport back to the Finish.
KIT
Because it is Scotland and because the race is in March the weather can be very changeable, due to this there will be a minimum kit requirement of hat, gloves, full waterproofs (jacket and trousers) and a foil blanket. No kit = no race, no exceptions. You don't want to be sitting at the side of the course in your simmit and short shorts in the oorlich getting drookit and crabbit.
If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact the organisers.
