Entries

No entries on the day will be possible, so please don’t ask. Closing date for online entries will be, Saturday 23rd August 6:30pm, or earlier if limit reached. The last two events have sold out over 6 weeks before race day, so don’t hang about. There will be no refunds given once you enter, so please don’t take a place if you’re unsure about running on the day.

You are able to transfer your entry to another participant. Please complete the transfer via Entry Central; once it has been approved by the admin team, the new participant will receive a confirmation email. Please note that any T-shirt selection made at the time of entry cannot be changed.

Please Note: It is a condition of entry that “in ear” or “can” type headphones are NOT allowed. You must be able to hear safety marshal instructions at all times.

Registration

Registration will be open at the registration tent situated at the Dockfoot end of Dock Park, from 8.30am on race day.

Here you can collect your race number and timing chip, use the toilet facilities, get changed, and leave your bag (at your own risk). Registration will close at 10.15am sharp.

There is limited parking at Dock Park. Ample car parking is available in front of Sands Snooker, on the Whitesands and Brooms Road car park.

Race start

The start line will be at Dockfoot, clearly marked on race day with our Start/Finish flags and timing equipment.

A compulsory pre-race briefing will take place at 10.25am.

The race starts at 10.30am.

Race Route**

The route is run on the footpath or pavement, except in Kingholm Quay where it is on the public road.

To ensure the safety of competitors, the route will be marshalled at key points throughout, and we’ll be operating a lead bicycle and a last runner sweeper. Please follow any instructions marshals give.

**There are major groundworks planned for 2026 on several parts of the route, in the event that our primary route is unavailable we will operate our alternate race route (currently awaiting official measure). ONLY enter if you are happy with this. We cannot offer refunds if we are forced to use our alternate route

Please note also that this race is run on open roads and paths, please be aware of other users, especially those with dogs, and always remain courteous.

Race finish

The finish line will be at the bottom of Dock Park. Please ensure you keep the finish line area clear, so timing marshals have a clear line of sight to those coming in.

On finishing, all competitors will receive a medal, water and goody bag. If you've injured yourself in any way, professional first aid will be on hand.

Post-race

Prize giving will commence once the last runner crosses the finish line. If you think you have won a prize and need to leave, please see the Race Director before you go.

Full results will be posted on the club Facebook page later in the day.

Dumfries Harriers look forward to receiving your entry and seeing you on the day.

Junior Parkrun

Also taking place on the same day in the Dock Park, starting at 9.30am, will be the Dumfries Junior Parkrun for 4 to 14-year olds. The event is FREE, and participants can register at www.parkrun.org.uk/register

If the race is unable to go ahead due to unforeseen circumstances or adverse course conditions, which would impact on the safety of competitors, we will post notice of this on the Dumfries Harriers website and Facebook page, the day before.
