ESC Dartmoor 2026

17 Apr 2026 - 19 Apr 2026

Organiser's Description

🧗 Dartmoor Trip – 17th–19th April

We’re heading down to Dartmoor National Park for a weekend of climbing, exploring, and good vibes in one of the UK’s most unique landscapes.

📍 Location

Dartmoor, Devon

We’ll be based near the main climbing areas, with easy access to tors, bouldering, and trad routes.

🧗 What We’ll Be Doing

This trip is all about making the most of Dartmoor’s granite. Expect:

  • Trad climbing on classic tors

  • Bouldering (plenty of it if the weather’s good)

  • Hiking between crags and soaking up the views

  • Plenty of time for wild dips as well!

🏕️ Accommodation

We’ll be staying at Bachelor's Hall. Exact details will be shared closer to the time.

🚗 Transport

The parking looks like it might be a bit tight, so lift share where possible, but will have more info on this closer to the time!

People are free to spend the weekend however they would like!

ESC recommends only belaying with assisted breaking devices and carrying a personal first aid kit.
Also, there is a crag safety sheet which all club members should read before climbing on a club trip.

Costs

For insurance reasons, these trips are aimed at ESC members and for that reason, they will have been emailed a discount code. If you are not a member and try to use the code your ticket will be invalidated by us and give me a headache so please don't! The discount code only works for one person at a time so if you want to pay for multiple people with a code just buy one ticket at a time. If you joined after that email went round please message a committee member for the code.

If you're not a member of the club you count as a prospective member for insurance reasons (ie are covered) for the first three months since you first did a club activity. If you've been coming on club trips for longer than that you'll need to join up to come. The link for that is here: Entrycentral.com/esc

The breakdown of the costs is as follows:

2 nights ESC member - £35 (2026 discount code)

2 nights NON member - £45

Code of Conduct

ESC reserves the right to remove anyone from a trip that is overly antisocial. Fights, abusive language, theft, inappropriate or aggressive behaviour and harassment will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to leave a trip by the committee should do so without disturbance and failure to do so may result in suspension from further trips. If you feel uncomfortable at any point during a trip please reach out to a committee member. Trips are a fun and safe space where everyone should be able to have a good time and feel comfortable. Good vibes only ✌️

Transport

Make sure you add yourself to the WhatApp group for this trip to arrange car sharing. The process for car sharing is as follows; if you can offer a lift then post on WhatsApp where you live and how many spaces you have. Costs are set by the driver and split between everyone in the car.

Any questions plase let us know.
