Organiser's Description

Welcome to the next edition of our guided runs

This month, we are again crossing the border in to Cornwall.

This 12 mile (approx) route will start at the Edgcumbe Arms Pub, by the waterfront opposite the ferry point in the Mount Edgcumbe Country Park at 9 am sharpe!

For those not wanting to drive round, there is a passenger ferry at 0845 from the Admirals Hard, Stonehouse, Plymouth for a price of £3 one way, not imcluded in the price of the run.  This is where I will be, your guide for the morning. Here is a link to the ferry:

Cremyll Ferry - Plymouth Boat Trips

The route will head inland up Millbrook Lake, before climbing steeply up to Maker Church, and then on to Make Heights. Afer a few more footpaths inland the route will pop out above Whitsand Bay, where we turn south and follow the coast path back past Rame Head Chapel, Penlee pouint, Kingsand and eventually back to Mount Edgcombe.

There is parking at Mount Edgcombe behind the pub, off the B3247, and for those catching the ferry the nearest carpark is at Firestone Bay. a 15 minute walk from the ferry point.

Trail shoes are a must, as is a long sleeve top and waterproof as the weather can change. Please carry some snacks and water too.

Those wanting a lift share can meet me in Tavistock Beford square at 0730. I have 8 seats available. Just let me know if you want a lift.
