KIRKWALL AQUATHLON - 2025

Kids Race

This fun, family friendly Aquathlon starts in the Pickaquoy Centre pool. Competitors swim & splash lengths of the pool dependant on age group, see below, before dashing to the running track at the rear of the centre to complete laps of the track. The race concludes with competitors sprinting down the finish chute and passing under the finish arch to rapturous applause from spectators!

Adult Race (Over 16)

This fun, family friendly Aquathlon starts in the Pickaquoy Centre pool. Competitors swim & splash 500m (20 lengths) of the pool before dashing outside and completing the 5km run before heading back to Picky where the race concludes with competitors sprinting down the finish chute and passing under the finish arch to rapturous applause from spectators!

The roads are open for the run leg of the adult and team events. Participants are reminded that road safety and compliance with the highway code are their responsibility. Run route will be marshalled and signposted.

Team Race

Team entries are welcome and actively encouraged from families, sporting clubs, workforces etc.

The team event follows the same format and course as the adult race.
Team entrants must be a minimum of 15 years old. Triathlon Scotland Insurance does not permit anyone under the age of 15 to take part in the team race.

This event is NOT chip-timed.

Results will be available on the day.
