Lomond Hill Runners have updated our yearly race to create a stunning long route, taking in the best features and views the Lomonds offer.  The route changes from a medium to long, to plug the need for more long races in the calendar, and fill a gap that covers a lot of the historic Devil's Burdens race.

It is a fast and challenging route, crossing all types of terrain taking in the best features of the Lomonds including East (twice at start and finish) and West Lomond and now we are going 'up' the once infamous 'bum slide' from the Bunnet Stane.  

The route follows key checkpoints and there are areas with choice of route, though a recommended route is provided, there may be faster options, and a gpx is provided on the Lomies website.  The route will NOT be waymarked between checkpoints, so navigational experience is important..  To be compliant with farmer requests, some livestock areas are 100% 'no go' and marked red on the map on the web page.

It is likely to be a bi-annual race alternating with the Glenshee 9 which is also in August, but we will take soundings to ascertain if there is a desire for it to be yearly.

KIT: In order to be compliant with SHR Insurance, all entrants must carry full waterproof body cover, hat, gloves, fluids/food (2 drinks stations en-route) map and compass.  The race has experienced all kinds of conditions in the past, so the kit is essential.

PRIZES: Senior 1st, as well as prizes for 2nd and 3rd, first V40, V50, V60+.

EARLY START OPTION: Please let the organiser know via email if you want to start 30 minutes before the main race. It is more awkward to organise on the day so please let us know when you sign up.

If the race cannot take place on the date scheduled for reasons outwith our control, we will reschedule the event and carry your entry forward to the revised date. However the race has taken place in all conditions in the past.

All entries are non-refundable, and go to good local causes.
