Race Description:

Start: 4pm, 4th July 2024 - Finish 11pm 6st July 2024 (55hrs)

By Way of The Glen-(Glasgow to Inverness) is a 170 mile foot race between Glasgow and Inverness, travelling along 2 of Scotland most stunning iconic long distance routes, the West Highland Way and the Great Glen Way. Starting Milngavie Train Station runners will have 28hrs to complete the West Highland Way(94miles) with a small link section on tarmac to then join The Great Glen Way(72miles) at Neptune Staircase. The route is fully marked with waymark and arrow signs and has a total ascent of around 24000ft.

There will be checkpoints along the way, where runners can be met by their support team, There will be also checkpoints that will be drop bag points serviced by marshals, this due to there location and the need for support crews to rest. Runners will be tracked and there will be a requirement to have at least one runner that can run in the event that you require help off the route between checkpoints.

Runners race history will be vetted before full entry confirmed.

Runners are invited to the presentation/prize giving on the Sunday morning at the Inverness sports centre where all runners acheivements are recognised.

Deferrals/Refund Policy:

Runners are reminded that Rocket Events dont do deferrals. Deferrals will only come into play if there are travel restrictions or lockdowns in place due to covid 19.

Refund:

• 30 day cooling off period will apply, withdrawal in this period will result in a £15 administration fee being applied.
• After 30 days a 50% refund will be offered up to 12 weeks before race day.
• 0-12 weeks 0% refund will be offered.
• No transfer of places between runners.

• Consideration should be given to taking sign-up insurance as offered by Entry Central.

These measures are being implemented to ensure runners are committed to running the events they have entered.

Runners Qualifications:

Runner will be asked to confirm their race expereince, This event is only open to individual who have completed races of 70miles plus.
