Organiser's Description

Join us on Tuesday May 30th for the Duthie Park 'Night of the Relays.'

Relays are a tremendous way of improving your speed in a fun way while also generating a friendly competitive spirit of camaraderie among the group.

Many of our regulars will know that we enjoy throwing in a relay at the end of many of our sessions. But this week, the entire workout is about relays.

We will tackle a variety of distances in a couple of different formats.

The session kicks off with teams of two tackling a flat 400m circuit for 12minutes

We then move on to a slightly more undulating 300m circuit, again being tackled by teams of two, again for 12 minutes.

And, with the aim of picking up the tempo as we move through the session, we'll finish off with the shortest relay, 100m, this time featuring teams of three running for 10min.

There will be a recovery period between each part of the session.

Plus our usual warm-up/actvation and cool down routines.

Our sessions are suitable for ALL RUNNERS regradless of pace.

We are a friendly group and always keen to help newcomers - so come along  - and bring a friend.

Coaching, encouragement and good advice will be on hand throughout.

There's ample free parking and our meeting point will be in front of the Winter Gardens.

Please arrive ready to start at 6pm. The whole session, including warm-ups/cool down and exercises, lasts one hour.

Tuesday 30th May, 6.00pm to 7.00pm

Location: Duthie Park,Aberdeen.

Cost: £6 per person.

As a result of the removal of most Covid regulations, the scottishathletics and jogscotland Covid Guidance (V12, and including all previous versions) which we have been following, has been withdrawn.

For general advice on helping to prevent the spread of Covid, we recommend following Scottish Government rules and guidance on how to stay safe. Covid is still a public health risk, and you can catch it even if you’ve been vaccinated or had it before.

By continuing to care for ourselves and others, we can help slow down the spread of the virus, enable groups such as ours to operate safely, and reduce pressure on health services.
