Organiser's Description
SETTING THE PACE AT DUTHIE PARK
Spring is here and for our first daylight session of 2023 we are heading for historic Duthie Park.
It’s one of our favourite venues as it offers wide and safe traffic-free pathways in a beautiful setting.
The workout is suitable for ALL RUNNERS (regardless of speed, age or experience) and will be split into three main sections. After our warm-up and activation routines we’ll tackle a 12 min steady-paced run on a 350m slightly undulating loop. The challenge is to see how many circuits you can complete within the allotted time. After a short recovery we’ll partner up into teams of two for a relay on the same circuit, for 10min, (that means you run hard for 350m, then recover while your partner runs the next 350m, and so on until the time is up. And then we’ll run a 8-10min three-person 100m relay on a flat route.
We’ll finish off with a gentle cool down and some optional post run stretches.
It’s a fantastic session to help improve your speed and form and it’s designed to help you achieve the ability to run progressively faster as we move through the different parts of the workout.
It’s challenging, but fun too,as you’ll be part of an enthusiastic group of runners who participate at a wide range of paces. No-one is left alone.
We are a friendly group and always keen to help newcomers - so come along - and bring a friend.
Coaching, encouragement and good advice will be on hand throughout.
There's ample free parking and our meeting point will be in front of the Winter Gardens.
Please arrive ready to start at 6pm. The whole session, including warm-ups/cool down and exercises, lasts one hour.
TUESDAY 6.00pm to 7.00pm
Location: Duthie Park,Aberdeen.

COVID-19 GUIDELINES
As a result of the removal of most Covid regulations, the scottishathletics and jogscotland Covid Guidance (V12, and including all previous versions) which we have been following, has been withdrawn.
For general advice on helping to prevent the spread of Covid, we recommend following Scottish Government rules and guidance on how to stay safe. Covid is still a public health risk, and you can catch it even if you’ve been vaccinated or had it before.
By continuing to care for ourselves and others, we can help slow down the spread of the virus, enable groups such as ours to operate safely, and reduce pressure on health services.
