PROMENADE 3K TIME TRIAL (Handicap)

Join us for our first 3k time trial of the year to set you up for the longer races ahead. We'll use the accurately measured course on the Aberdeen beach promenade to ensure you get a genuine time.

If you've never run a 3k before, this is an ideal opportunity to test yourself over the distance. 

We'll take you through a proper warm-up routine and an appropriate post-run cool down.

Coaching, encouragement and good advice will be on hand throughout.

The session caters for all abilities of runner so everyone is welcome! No matter how fast or slow you are - we will be encouraging you all the way. It's held on a handicap basis, so the slower runners get a head start and everyone should finish close together.

The course is on a wide pedestrian footpaths and is therefore completely traffic-free. The promenade is used by many walkers and runners so please be courteous to others at all times. We do not have priority over anyone else.

PLEASE NOTE: sign-ups now close at 9pm on Monday 3rd April. This is to give us time to calculate the handicaps for all runners.

There's ample free parking on the Prom and our meeting point will be outside the main entrance to the Beach Leisure Centre. 

Please arrive ready to start at 6pm. The whole session,including warm-ups/cool down and exercises, lasts one hour.

COVID-19 GUIDELINES

As a result of the removal of most Covid regulations, the scottishathletics and jogscotland Covid Guidance (V12, and including all previous versions) which we previously followed, has been withdrawn. 

For general advice on helping to prevent the spread of Covid, we recommend following Scottish Government rules and guidance on how to stay safe. Covid is still a public health risk, and you can catch it even if you’ve been vaccinated or had it before.

By continuing to care for ourselves and others, we can help slow down the spread of the virus, enable groups such as ours to operate safely, and reduce pressure on health services.
