Organiser's Description

Welcome to the Dalgety Bay 10K. This event has been organised by the Forth Bridges Rotary Club as a community event for the local area. Proceeds from the race will go to End Polio Now and other charities /good causes.

The race will be limited to 450 entries. The entry fee is £16.00. There is a waiting list which will close on the Wednesday before the race. There will be NO entries accepted on the day. Please note that entries are non-refundable and not transferable. Entrants should be aged 16 and over on the day.

The 10K race will take place on Sunday 21st April 2024 at 11am.

The race starts and finishes at Dalgety Bay Sailing Club which is located off The Wynd in Dalgety Bay KY11 9SJ.

Registration for the 10K race will be open between 9.30am - 10.45am. Your race number must be collected on the day of the race. Please pin this to the front of your race t-shirt. Medical details and emergency contacts must be filled in on the back of the race number before the race.  DO NOT PASS YOUR NUMBER TO ANYONE ELSE. Anyone running using a number not allocated to them will be disqualified.

There is no parking available at The Sailing Club, however, in order to keep the carbon footprint of the event to a minimum, we suggest using public transport, walking or cycling. Parking will be available at Donibristle Primary School. Bikes can be left at the Sailing Club and are left at owner's own risk.

There are toilet facilities provided within the Sailing Club. There are no facilities on the route.

All competitors should make their way to the start line 10 mins before race start time.

This is a multi-terrain route that includes smooth trails, some tarmac and woodland. We may have to alter the race route and distance due to forestry or other essential maintenance work. If the race is cancelled due to severe weather conditions or any other unforeseen circumstances, then we will reschedule the race to a later date. Dogs and pushchairs are not allowed on either race.

Please obey any signals and directions given by any route marshals – for safety reasons please do not wear headphones (including bone-conducting) due to road crossings and other users on the coastal path, who you'll need to be aware of. The route will be well marked, and marshals will be in place at road crossings and other key points. In the interests of the safety of both competitor and marshal there will be a two hour cut off for the 10k. There will be a sweeper who will carry a first aid kit and assist in administering minimal First Aid if required.

Events like this can be strenuous and the organisers cannot accept responsibility for any accidents or injuries. By entering this race you are confirming you understand that participation at this event is at your own risk. Two first-aid teams will be available at the start/finish area and at Braefoot woods. Anyone withdrawing during the race should report to the nearest marshal.

Please ensure you write your emergency contact details on the reverse of your race number. Please also include any medical information which may assist the first aid team in the event of injury or illness.

Markers will be in place at km intervals.

There will be two water stations on the course. Hot drinks and baking will be available at the finish, for participants only.

Prizes will be awarded to the first 3 finishers in the male and female category and winners at age categories. Over aged 18 finishers will receive a commemorative bottle of beer from Inner Bay Brewery.

The race will be chip timed, and results will be available on the event Facebook page as soon as possible after the event.

Forth Bridges Rotary is extremely grateful for the support of our sponsors Remax Dalgety Bay, Inner Bay Brewery, Shmooz, The Wee Glasshouse.  This race also promotes awareness of Rotary's commitment to the End Polio Now campaign.
