Spires Cycling Club in conjunction with Magherafelt Harriers and O'Donovan Rossa GAC will be holding a one day event on 29th May 2022 in memory of and to celebrate the life of our good friend Kevin Murphy.
Kevin unfortunately passed away on 23rd December 2021 in tragic circumstances.

Kevin was one of life's givers, giving freely of himself and his time to others, not expecting anything in return.

Kevin was a keen triathlete, runner and cyclist. He competed in lots of events over the years and in doing so raised a lot of money for various charities.

The Kevin Murphy Day will support 3 charities Kevin was very passionate about-Foyle Hospice, Alzheimer's Society and Chest, Heart Stroke Association and all money raised will go to these very worthwhile charities.

There will be a raffle and tickets can be purchased on the day of the event. There are great prizes to be won and all of the proceeds will go to the chosen charities.

The Kevin Murphy day will consist of a 5K run, 5K walk and a fun run for the children. This will be donation on the day.

There will also be 2 cycles on the day with two routes available: A 51.5 mile route and a 26.5 mile route (see enclosed maps for full details of the routes).

Sign On is from 8.00am at O'Donovan Rossa GAC and the cycle will be sign on and go for both routes. There will be no mass start.

There will be food stops for both the 51.5 mile and 26.5 mile routes.

There will also be refreshments/changing facilities at the finish.

Entry: £20 via entrycentral up to 27th May 2022.

There will also be sign on available on the day of the cycle.

All cyclists who sign up online will receive a t-shirt. There will also be some t-shirts available on the day for those cyclists who haven't signed up online.

Insurance

This event is approved by Cycling Ireland and as such all participants with a Cycling Ireland licence are covered by Cyclind Ireland insurance.

For those who do not hold a Cycling Ireland licence there will be an additional £9 fee on the day for a one day licence. This will provide Cycling Ireland insurance cover during the cycle.

There will be first aid cover for both the cycle routes.

There will also be sweeper vans for both routes.
