The RAF Shawbury RAFBF 10k Airfield Race - Saturday 28th March 2026
Welcome to the RAF Shawbury RAFBF 10km Airfield Race. We are so happy to announce this event for 2026!
Looking for a target or need a final training run for the upcoming 2026 marathon season? Look no further! This event is great for those just starting out in the running game, the club superheroes looking to crush a PB or elite athletes wanting to compete against some of the best runners in the country. There’s something for everyone. - all to raise funds for Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.
Distance: 10k (1k fun run on the day available to children) – Distance and timings managed by JC Race Solutions.
Registration and Pre-Race: Registration starts from 0900 until 1040 where all runners will need to be filtered into the race start area for pre-race briefing and warm-up.

Race Entry: As RAF Shawbury is an active military establishment. To enter the station and take part in the race all over 16’s MUST HAVE photo ID such as Passport or Driving Licence.
You will not be allowed entry to RAF Shawbury or race without a recognised Photo ID.
Parking: There is ample parking. Please follow direction signs and marshals. Do not try to enter the event via RAF Main gate.
Max entries: 400
Prizes: Trophies for the top 3 Male and Female racers will be presented at the end of race.
Medals: Finisher medals will be given out at the end of the race.
Race souvenir: Goodie bags kindly provided by RAFBF.
Course: This unique event is raced around the RAF Shawbury airfield. The course is excellent for attempting a PB as it is a flat and fast tarmacked surface.
Guests: Guests are welcome to the event, please ensure you give us the names of each guest and amount of guests (Maximum 4 guests per runner).
Event Village: Various local food and drinks vendors will be in attendance to supply you with your pre- and post-race needs plus other vendors promoting sport and fitness for all! There will also be a mixture of Portaloo’s (including a disabled access Portaloo) and toilets for all attendees alongside large tents erected for racers to be able to change in/out of running gear.
Environment: Litter or Foreign Object Debris (FOD) can have a catastrophic impact on aircraft and organisational capability. Absolutely NO FOD is to be dropped on the ground- it must be placed in the bins provided, including the water station at 5 km point. Such is the significance, anyone found to be in breach of this will be immediately disqualified, removed from MOD property, and banned from further events. This is non-negotiable due the important flight safety requirements.
Disclaimer: By signing up to this event, you agree that your baggage, guest(s) baggage, and vehicle(s) may be subject to search upon entering MOD property and that you agree to abide by any and all rules/directions given to you by Marshals/Race Officials/Organising Personnel. You also agree not to film or document yourself around the airfield course with any kind of recording equipment.
This is normally a non-refundable event. However, should the event be postponed or the format changed e.g. to virtual for any reason then your entry will be automatically transferred. Under such circumstances you can request a full refund instead.
