EpicTrails believes that everyone should feel safe when out. As such, we have teamed up with the Scottish Centre for Personal Safety (Scottish Centre for Personal Safety (scotcps.org.uk) to deliver a 4 hr session on personal safety. The session will run from 1pm to 5pm on Suday 20th February 2022 within Cairns Church hall, Milngavie.

The Scottish Centre for Personal Safety is a charity which provides empowering personal safety and practical self defence training across Scotland. You will be taught the Law regarding self defence, reasonable use of force, voice control and de-escalation techniques as well what to do  if things turn violent. You'll learn how to escape from a wrist grab, clothing grab, strangle hold, a frontal attack, back attack and ground attack including sexual assault. You may even get a chance to put everything you've learned against a padded attacker. All self defence techniques are designed to be effective regardless of your height, weight or gender.

Under 16's must be accompanied by a guardian and unfortunately no under 13's.

You will need to wear  gym attire or loose fitting clothing (no skirts or sandals). Face masks are to be worn at all times in the building unless exempt.

This event is not for profit. All money raised will initially be used to cover costs and the remainder donated to a local charity on a periodic basis.

If you cannot attend the event please let us know. Refunds will only be given if requested and no refunds if less than 24hours notice.
