Hereford Triathlon Club Members Only Open Water Swimming
23 Jul 2021
Hereford Triathlon Club Members Only Open Water Swimming has now closed and you will not be able to sign-up for it. Please check the Organiser's Description for any organiser updates.
This event is in a testing state, and is not open for public sign-ups until the organiser has launched it.
Open Water Swimming - Coronavirus Guidelines
Temporarily, whilst the lake is out of action, the open water swimming sessions will take place at the Hereford Youth Canoe Centre next to the River Wye on Friday evenings. They are for members only and numbers are limited.
The centre is part of the Castle Green Pavillion. There's a changing area but no parking. The closest car park is at Hereford Leisure Pool or St Martin's Street. They're a 5 to 10 minute walk from the centre. Please wait outside the pavillion, we'll then check you in and give you a briefing and information about the changes from our lake sessions.
A huge thanks to Nick, Matt and the team from West Mercia Search and Rescue who also volunteer with the Youth Canoe Club. The money for the sessions will go directly to them.
Please do not mention the venue on social media or post your data if the location is visible.
For our members aged 18 or younger, we need written permission from your parent or guardian to say that you are able to attend the sessions. An email is fine.
Your details will be stored securely in accordance with data protection regulations.
We will be taking part in the UK track and trace scheme. If anybody becomes ill, or suspects that they are ill, with coronavirus then we will contact you all to notify you. This may require you to pass your details on to the scheme. If you receive a track and trace notification or if you have a positive test result for coronavirus then you must notify the club immediately.
Please do not attend the sessions if you are feeling unwell, if you have a high temperature or if you are self-isolating.
We would advise bringing hand gel with you to use after the session and before you eat or drink.
There will not be an opportunity to just turn up and swim. The coaches will have to turn you away if you do so.
We are not able to have any spectators or animals in the compound. Should you wish to bring your children, pets, family or friends then they will have to watch from elsewhere on the side of the lake.
Arriving at the lake
Please arrive at the compound at 5:55pm (all numbers)
Your number is on your email receipt from Entry Central
